About Me

The Good the Bad and the Macabre

 Hello everyone,

For those that don't know me, I'm Ian. I've been a lifelong fan of movies and film. As I get older I continue to explore many different genres, movements, and areas of film. I consider myself to be a cinematic explorer. I like movies that people consider to be good, the Shawshank Redemption for example. I enjoy watching movies that some people might consider to be bad. This can range from anything to Italian Jaws rip-offs like Cruel Jaws, B-movies like Nightmare Sisters, or the maligned sequel to a long running and overdue franchise such as Halloween: Resurrection.

My favorite genre of film is the horror genre. Adding the name, "macabre," to this blog draws attention to the term because it is the only part of the title to be a different word from the namesake of the blog, the 1966 film, The Good the Bad and the Ugly. While that is one of my favorite films of all time, I wanted a name that would stick with people. I borrowed the title of the movie for that reason. While I want this blog, and a possible podcast that goes along with it to be horror-centric, I thought that name would give me some more opportunities. I might want to branch out and cover different genres as well as different films from time to time. Most people who know me know that I'm passionate about Italian genre films. There will be separate pages on this blog for different sub-genres of Italian films. There may be more pages to help divide more genres as well. Once I get this going a little more there will be more pages like all time favorite movies and actors. I'm looking forward to going on this journey with you and getting my name out there more!

The Cursed

There have not been many, if any great gothic werewolf films since the days of Hammer Horror and Universal before that. There have been so...
